Get moving...![]()
Oh, I did miss one thing.
First, you could do as Carpe~Diem says and try to set a lower value for Performance Level. I suggest you do test that BEFORE you try to tighten the other timings. (good point Carpe~Diem!)
But while you are having CAS3 now, can you try keep the same memsettings and change to multiplier 8 instead of 9. The you try to raise your FSB 5-10MHz at the time and try to reach 450MHz FSB. If you manage that, you will run 8*450=3.6GHz 3-3-3-3-4.It might be easier if you raise tRAS to 6, 8 or 10...
The thing I forgot: In my opinion you should always keep as high frequency on the rams as possible when running SP32M. You CAN compensate lower frequency with better timings but I feel that that is more time consuming.
I suggest that you go back to 2:3-divider (9*400 will give you 600MHz on the RAMs) and try to tighten the timings at that frequency.
Another way of reaching better speed in the RAMs might be to change from 266-strap to 200-strap. Sometimes even 333-strap can help, depends of what FSB you are running...
When (if) you are running like 8*450MHz you will probably notice that 2:3-divider is very hard to use (675MHz on the RAMs). Try to back down to 4:5-divider (562MHz?) and use the timings you had for 600MHz to start with. Then try to tighten them.
Good luck!![]()
My first run.
First 32M Run+second
My 8. Run
8.Th strapp 266 run 7-6-6-6-20-7-48-7-20-17-4-8-5-6-16383T-T2
I still need to try out T1, Lower multi, More tweaks, and New OS
These times are NOT very good![]()
I have some problems to see the result in that last picture... But it does look like 13m-something.So you have already shaved of more than 2 minutes? Nice!! What speed does your RAMs have?
First thing that strikes me is that you have not mentioned copywazaa. If you have not tried that, please do.Might do more 10 seconds.
Second, that looks like a allround installation disk. I have tried that and I was hopelessly after the 'other' guys. If you have a SATA-**** laying around, try do an installation on that with Windows, intel chipset-drivers, memset, setfsb and SuperPI. I did not even have the drivers for the display installed.Disable everything you do not need in BIOS before installation.
My best 32M Superpi run
Suggestions how to improve is verry velcome.

@Nanok:
I do believe that disabling the wireless network(s) will help alot.
9*400 would be better, BUT maybe you will run into trouble with you RAMs then? Same with 8*450... Do you have the divider 4:5 on your board?
P.S. I do like your desktop image.![]()
tryed 450x8 with 5:4 but struggling to get it 32M stabel.
The one closest to succeed was 10.5min in too the test.
Ram is 4.3.3.10@562.6

That is a big improvment. And your RAMs seems ok.
Can you enter 'msconfig' and see what programs that are autostarting? I see you have acrobat reader and I do belive that that program has some autostarting stuff...
Do you have Performance Level in you BIOS? It should be in the RAM section if so...
Also. Can you donwload and install memset and maybe include that in your next screenshot?
whats the best time so far?

Close EVERYTHING running on the pc that you dont use.
You have avast and alot of other stuff running I see.
set affenity in taskmanager for superpi.
Change to Core 2 , also done in taskmanager.
Try and read the thread, there is ALOT of great tips

Nanok: Can you try PerformanceLevel 8,7 or 6 maybe. Also Write To Precharge Delay should be possible to set to 10 or 11...
xt0m: nice going! Is it possible to run exact same setting but 450*8 instead? Maybe you need more voltage to the RAMS or loosen the timings to 4-4-4-5 or so... 4-4-4-8 is almost identical but might give you the last MHz in clock instead.

Not even though your RAMs then do 450MHz...? A bit strange... Are you booting at 450*8 or are you booting with lower FSB and then using setfsb or do? If possible, try to boot with 420 or so and then use setfsb for the rest.
Also, what strap are you using? Strap 1066 or even 800 tends to be better.
I have no idea of how to calculate that, I just run the test.Someone else might post an answer to that...? Or maybe I missunderstand you.
Sometimes it can be better to start the test and then break it right after the initial value is showed (around 10 seconds). Then start the bench again and let it finish. However, with no swap file and a rather low maxmem, the test might fail.
