Hello Martin, you are my only hope.
I have two non-reference cards that are being stubborn, specifically the second one will not let me change the voltage with any utility and I was unsuccessful at using the technique/files you posted on earlier pages.
Can you please raise up the voltage in at least the "ASUSbottom" one?
I use water cooling so anywhere between 1.4 and 1.45 would be great! I think 1.4375 would be the best.
I hope you are successful. Thanks!

an ASUS TOP bios can I not edit, but you can try to a XFX 4890 bios
an next time, name it to rom,if RBE must be able to read it as rom![]()

Hrm. I think part of my problem is I cannot run either winflash (2.0.1.7) or GPUTool, they crash or do not run properly in my Windows 7 x64; perhaps I need to do a fresh install.
One of the cards is an EAH4890 and the other is an EAH4890 TOP, both are the 2-fan Voltage Tweak edition. The cards seem really close to the reference PCB but the MSI and XFX reference BIOSs do not seem to work. I POST fine and the windows 7 loading logo does its swirly thing but then instead of a login screen it goes to black (no sound either).
Anyone have a successfully-voltmodded EAH4890 VT bios handy? Or perhaps, do you know more about which of these might be able to handle a reference BIOS? I can soft mod the primary card (in Crossfire), but I cannot get software access to the secondary card so my solution is to flash a voltmodded BIOS onto it.
Did you say on an earlier page that I should not try to flash cards while bridged in Crossfire?
Thanks for trying Martin, I wish I understood your technique on page 1 better, but it sdeems to only work with GPUTool.

flash 2x can you, while both sides of your motherboard, but not in cross
whit ativinflash you flash the first, and after NO 2,and then restart.
after which you can showcase bridged cross again.
have you tried to flash both cards with the ASUS Top BIOS,an use smartdoc tool from ASUS to set vgpu ?

Ok I will try flashing them with the Crossfire bridge removed. I am flashing off of a DOS USB drive using atiflash.
I have tried ASUS TOP BIOS on the non-TOP card, but it will load windows once at 800x600 and say "No ATI drivers found!," when I install the drivers and reboot then I can no longer get into windows, iut crashes after the Windows 7 logo. I did this while still connected in Crossfire though.
1 card is stock 850/975 @ 1.3v, the other card is stock 900/1000 @1.3125v. If I only put in one card I can control it through SmartDoctor, but in Crossfire I can only change the clocks of the #2 card, I cannot change the #2 card's voltage from 1.3I can put the #1 card as high as I want with AwardFabrik Voltage Factoryk, but I cannot poll the #2 card
Both cards have the VT1165 Volterra chip so this is very frustrating! If I can just flash one card with a high voltage BIOS then I can make it the #2 card and just softmod the #1 card.
I will let you know about my attempts with no Crossfire.
Thanks

Hello there,
I've got a Sapphire HD4890 1Go Non-Standard Version Blue PCB (not Vapor-X), and I can't set the voltage with any software (tried MSI AB, GPUTools etc).
So I wonder if it's possible to set the voltage via GPU BIOS ? I'm actually at 950 core and 1100 memory, and I really need to hit the 1Ghz !
Can you make a bios for me plz ? With a decent voltage for air cooling ?
Here my bios.
